Hello, I'm Ms. Gabbi, I'm the director at Sunrise Smart Start, ELC in Oak Park. I grew up in Ferndale, I have traveled to Spain and the Dominican Republic, and I speak fluent Spanish. I live in Redford, I have two cats and a dog, and I like baking and gardening. I have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Spanish. I worked at Roeper Summer Day Camp as a Head Lower Camp Counselor during the summer when I was in college. After I earned my Bachelor’s degree I spent two years as a nanny for a family in Royal Oak, and then two years at a small child care center in Hamtramck as a young toddler teacher and then a Lead GSRP teacher. I’m an advocate for young children and I am passionate about providing high quality early care and education.

My name is Patricia Adams and I am the owner of Sunrise Smart Start, ELC. Please call me Ms. Patty. I am a Native Detroiter. I attended Northwestern Performing Arts High School and after graduation I joined the U.S. Navy in 1978. I spent 14 years in the Navy and was released on Honorable Discharge in 1992. I then entered the field of law as a legal secretary working for another 14 years with attorneys and then retiring to open up a daycare center from my home in 2007. We are now expanded and have two locations, one in Oak Park and one on the east side of Detroit. I have been in childcare for many years and I love working with children and families and being a part of their lives.
